ASEAS(UK) Conference 2022

We’re pleased to announce the ASEAS(UK) Conference Programme is now online. In the programme you can find out more about the panel sessions, workshops, roundtables and keynotes. The selection committee has accepted a number of significant panels and roundtables, covering a range of topics, from’Southeast Asian Studies in the time of the UK’s Indo-Pacific tilt’ to ‘Race, Religion, and Right-Wing Politics in Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia’.

Keynote speakers

For this year’s conference, we are very happy to welcome two important scholars of Southeast Asia for two keynote addresses: Jonathan Rigg (University of Bristol) and Maitrii Aung-Thwin (National University of Singapore).

Registration

As an international and multi-disciplinary scholarly organisation, ASEAS particularly welcomes attendees from Southeast Asia. Panels and events will be held in morning, afternoon and evening slots to provide maximum flexibility for those attending.

Registration is only £1 for non-presenters. Zoom links for panel sessions will be sent to all registered attendees prior to the conference.

The conference is for ASEAS members only. ASEAS annual membership rates start at £15 for postgraduate and early career researchers.
