The Association of Southeast Asian Studies presents an International PhD Workshop in Bangkok
Hosted by Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand
20–21 May 2025
Convenors: Adam Tyson (ASEAS, Leeds) and Rungchai Yensabai (Srinakharinwirot)
This international PhD workshop provided an excellent opportunity for current and prospective PhD students to receive an intensive review of chapters and proposals by senior advisors. It was a great way for participants to meet like-minded PhD students and experts working in Southeast Asia, to exchange views on cutting edge research and the most critical issues of the day. Participants also benefitted from additional skills sessions on ‘career development’ and ‘how to get published’.

Eligibility
Participants must be (a) currently enrolled for a doctoral degree, or (b) have been accepted onto a doctoral degree programme.
We accept proposals from any discipline or branch of the social sciences and humanities.
